I am LOVING the cord clamps and medical scissors to help out when cutting my puppies’ cords.
Why? Won’t mom just chew the cords?
Usually, yes. But here’s a few times when these cord clamps have been LIFE SAVERS!
1- A new momma who didn’t know what to do. She didn’t chew the cords, she didn’t even get her pups out of the sack! Time for me to step up and help! The cord clamps were so much easier than tying dental floss- less slimy and icky and simple to do.
2- A momma who wanted to chew the umbilical cords…. but always gets diarrhea after birth from eating too many placentas!!! No good- I have literally had to clean momma and newborn puppies and whelping area because she didn’t want to leave her babies but had an upset stomach after labor. The solution? Cut the cord and dispose of the placentas myself!! Happy, healthy, and CLEAN puppies, mom, and whelping box.
