Do you get requests from potential families to see if your puppies are going to be home for Christmas? Many families dream of their children opening a Christmas puppy on the big day- a bow around his neck, a smile on his face, the whole nine yards.
The problem is that many Christmas puppies are rehomed soon after!
A family who narrows their search to only the puppies who are old enough to be home exactly on Christmas day may make a rushed decision due to the pressure of the holiday.
That’s a gamble for you, as a breeder, on if your pup will have a forever family. Is this a long-term placement, or is this a pup who will spend his second Christmas finding a backup family because his first family wasn’t committed?
Here’s a helpful resource to solve the problem!

Rather than trying to bring a puppy home on Christmas, the family has an option to gift puppy items- such as a bed, toys, food, dishes, etc- along with this note!
This note is written as if from the puppies in your litter- and will explain to the kiddos in the family that a perfect puppy is coming! The language is such that the puppy will come home sometime in the near future- giving the children (and the family) time to prepare and carefully select the best pup!
That’s a much better Christmas gift- to you as a loving breeder, to the family in finding the perfect companion, and to the puppy in a long-term home!
